Job Description

The Investment Analyst Portfolio’s responsibility is to Advise NAPSA on investment policy development, asset allocation, and risk management. The position monitors portfolios and the implementation of the asset allocation model, implements strategic decisions, and compliments strategy groups into the different investment portfolios. Additionally, the Investment Analyst – Portfolio shall be in charge of models and programs, as well as technologies that optimize the performance of the whole NAPSA portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the investment strategies, asset allocation models as customised by the Authority’s needs and goals and in liaison with the superiors deals with any queries that arise about the strategy, to enhance the achievement of the NAPSA investment objectives.
  • Deliver NAPSA’s portfolio management information that include performance, returns, valuation and timely reports to the Heads of Sections to enable them prepare monthly management and quarterly board reports support decision making.
  • Liaise with the other internal departments like the risk team, finance and legal departments ensure all the investments are in line with the NAPSA investment strategic goals.
  • Liaise with the external parties that include the project developers, fund managers and the advisers so to keep track of all the NAPSA investments.
  • Analyse and construct risk profiles for the proposed Authority’s portfolio changes, 
  • designing investment strategies, analysing portfolio attribution and applying risk management techniques
  • Producing detailed quarterly reporting packs to facilitate investment team discussions to aid investment, re-investment or disinvestments decisions.
  • Preparing detailed performance attribution models (benchmarking against the Authority’s risk exposures, strategic and tactical asset allocation) on multi-asset class portfolios in addition to other requested analytics.
  • Review of target weights and asset allocation and recommend the rebalancing that may be required to be made to the portfolio. 
  • Researching on new portfolio construction techniques and approaches
  • Building tools for effective portfolio performance management.
  • Using data, analysis, benchmarking, research and other insights to inform strategy and portfolio performance.
  • Assist in the creation and analysis of fund returns models
  • Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ Levels with credit or better including Mathematics and English 
  • Degree in Accountancy / Business Administration, or ACCA CIMA or equivalent or business related fields
  • Not less than 4 years of experience as an investment analyst in a similar organisation with a similar investment scope
